Frequently Asked Questions
I charge £50 for a 50 minute session.
I’m based in Newquay, Cornwall and online. I work online with clients internationally.
We will meet once a week, usually on the same day and at the same time.
If your schedule is irregular (e.g. you do shift work) I can usually be more flexible as long as this is agreed in advance.
You can contact me using the contact form on the Home Page, email me, or use the booking page to arrange a free 20 minute Zoom or phone consultation.
This gives me an opportunity to let you know initially whether I think I can help. It also gives you a chance to ask any questions you have. You can also get a feel for me and how I work.
That's no problem, the therapist-client relationship is really important. There is no obligation to have a minimum number of sessions.
It really depends on your individual sitation and goals, but I find the majority of clients get to where they want to be by about 20 sessions.
If your situation is complex and I feel you may benefit from longer term therapy, I will discuss this with you, but it is down to you as the client to decide.
There is no obligation to have a minimum number of sessions.
No, to gain the most benefit from therapy, it is usually recommended to have weekly sessions. The exception to this is when we have a planned end date, when it may be possible to have a fixed number of fortnightly sessions.
No, but there are lots of therapists who do.
Everything you say to me is confidential. The only time I share what we have talked is during my supervision, when I may discuss our work together. During such times your identity will be kept anonymous. This is a professional requirement and is for the purpose of developing and supporting my work.
There are some exceptional circumstances where I may be required to break confidentiality. I will discuss these with you more fully in our first meeting.
I require one week's notice for any missed sessions.
If you can't make a session, you are welcome to reschedule within the same week (assuming I have availability). If you are unable to provide one week's notice or rescheule, the full fee is payable.
I have a very limited number of concessionary spots for people on low incomes. Currently these are all taken.
No, I work with adults age 18 and above.
